Crop tops Do’s & Don’ts.

Birds are chirping, flowers blossoming, green leaves are back on our trees, and as we start shedding layers, we start showing skin. One of the most popular trends this year? Crop tops.

Crop tops have made their way back into style and they’re perfect for almost anyone! The key to wearing a crop top is to wear it confidently and with the right bottoms. Let’s go over some do’s & don’ts.

DO:
Rock the crop top with high waists.

High waist shorts, skirts, jeans etc. are perfect to pair with a crop top. Although you want to show some skin, you don’t want to be half naked. A high waist covers up part of you torso, and balances the outfit out. I personally adore the crop top & maxi skirt look. The mid-riff area is typically the slimmest part of a woman’s body, therefore this look is extremely flattering.

DON'T:
Crop top & low-rise short-shorts.

While you might have the abs to pull it off, we don't need to see it walking down the street. Showing too much skin is not classy, and not fashionable. Save bearing the abs for the beach, or the pool, not for going to grab a coffee.

DO:
Pick a crop top that works best for your body.

Picking the right crop top for your body is vital. There is a crop top for every shape and size. Remember, a crop top should show a hint of skin, while staying classy, and fashion forward. If you're a girl with a bigger bust, try to stay away from the low-cut tops unless you are exceptionally confident, and comfortable. Petite girls are just lucky because they can pull off just about anything, but if you're looking to add curves to your figure, I might suggest a high waisted skirt with a flare - like the last picture on the right - to add the illusion of hips, and a patterned top to add the illusion of a bust.

Thanks for reading guys, remember, its okay to show some skin, just keep it classy and tasteful

Coachella

As many of us know, Coachella 2013 has come and gone. Along with it many of the crazy, beautiful, eclectic, funny, extreme(and on and on...) outfits. Each year Coachella gives everyone a chance to unleash their inner hipster-boho look, and unless you're the likes of Vanessa Hudgens, this is a special occasion. This year was no different from the rest. So lets take a look at some of the outfits that lurked around Coachella this year.
Vanessa Hudgens - All hail Boho Queen - has recently come under heavy fire along with select other celebrities for recently sporting a bindi (A small jewel worn on the forehead of women, most popular in southern asian countries, and holds certain religious value in some cultures) However it's hard to deny that Hudgens looks stunning. This adorable white crop top & short-shorts combo is perfect for the scorching weather in CA, and shows off her stunning tan. It's a simple, comfortable, cute outfit. Keeping with the simplicity, Hudgens wore her hair down naturally topped with a flower halo, fully embracing her inner flower-child. Her accessories include clusters of bangles and bracelets, the aforementioned bindi, a black backpack and simple brown leather sandals. (The deep red lipstick she is wearing is also gorgeous!!) As one of the simpler looks Vanessa Hudgens wore, this was certainly one of my favorites from the entire festival.
Paris Hilton showed up sporting several different maxi dresses through the festival, and while others were cute, this one simply doesn't do it for me. While color is definitely in this spring/summer season, this is overkill. The dress alone is vibrant and busy, and if worn by itself with simple neutral shoes & accessories, it may have been bearable, but the hot pink bag, black shoes, black belt, and the daisy-chain halo, is just too much. If you're going to wear a dress that busy, keep everything else simple!
Katy Perry, always in something quirky, strutted around coachella in this interesting Dolce & Gabbana copped bustiere ( Katy Perry being one of the only women with a larger bust that can pull one off without looking over the top.) and matching skirt, and while most would look ridiculous, Katy pulled it off. Her cute little handbag added to the overall playfulness of the ensemble, and she wisely kept her other accessories minimal. The only change I would suggest for festival goers, is perhaps flats in replace of heels.

That's all for right now, I'll make another post tomorrow :)
